A weekend with our cousins

This past weekend my cousin Michelle and her son Wesley came to Arizona for a visit. Michelle's husband just recently joined the Army and has been told that they have to move to Germany for 3 years. They will be leaving sometime this month. My mom and I wanted to have a special dinner for Michelle while she was here so we decided to do a German themed dinner...(thanks Jaime for your dinner themed ideas). Our family is part German so we are familiar with some of the foods they eat. Our menu consisted of Cucumber and Onion salad, Roast Beef with Sauerkraut, Seasoned Green Beans, Mashed Potatoes, we had Root Beer Floats in place of actual beer and then for desert my mom found some German cookies and a German cake at a local store here. My parents used to have some German friends and they gave my dad a German beer about 20 years ago, my dad never opened it so we used it as part of our centerpiece. I also made place mats using the German flag, Coat of Arms and a map of Germany. I even got three different table clothes to make the table look like the German flag. After doing this we came to the conclusion that this was going to start our monthly dinners from around the world.

Here are Wesley and Morgan showing off their football attire!

Pretend sleeping! So cute!

Wesley's first swimming experience...he LOVED the water.

On Friday we went to the Children's Museum downtown. What a fun place for kids. Mostly geared for ten and under. They have a separate room for 3 and under. There is a play kitchen in there, stairs for the babies to crawl up, a slide, and so much more. This entire museum's attractions are made from recycled materials.

They had a Marilyn Monroe vent...of course I had to get Miss Morgan on it. :)

Morgan did so good with her walking here. She decided to grab a hold of the cart and push Wesley around in it as he was sitting there!

Just hanging out on the big pod chairs.
Playing in the kitchen...Morgan loved this area. I think her next new toy is going to be a play kitchen for at home!

This was a wall of shoes. So many shoes and they were plastered to the wall. Very neat!

Here we are at the Ice Cream Stand. The little girl behind it was just a guest at the museum, but she wanted to serve the babies their first ice cream cones!

We had so much fun with Michelle and Wesley! We cannot wait to take our trip Germany to visit them in 2 years! What an experience that will be for us!
