We are on the move...

Morgan finally decided to crawl this afternoon. She has been pulling herself up and walking around everything, but did not want to crawl. Now she is on the move.

Dinner's a Wrap...

My Tasty Treat for this week is Ranch Cheddar Chicken Roll-Ups.

What you need:
1 large red pepper cut into strips
1 bunch of green onions, chopped
1lb. boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into strips
1/3 cup ranch dressing (you can use BBQ sauce too)
4 tortillas
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Make it:
Cook and stir vegetables in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat 3 min. Add chicken; cook and stir 3 to 4 min. or until no longer pink. Stir in ranch dressing; cook on medium heat 3 min. or until chicken is done.

Spoon chicken mixture down centers of tortillas; top with cheese. Roll up; cut in half and ENJOY!

Show us a room Monday...Today's pick is Morgan's room

The room I choose this week is Morgan's room. I have not taken any pictures of her room yet, so I thought this would be the perfect way to finally share her room with everyone! When we were deciding what to do for Morgan's room I knew I wanted pink and brown as the colors. I found a pattern that has a little bit of flowers on it, and also polka dots. Morgan already has a collection of stuffed animals that she has received, so I placed them all in a big basket and display them on the chest in her room. The book shelf in filled with pictures of our family and her very own book collection. Morgan loves to be read to.

I found some pink letters with silver rhinestones on them that I thought would be perfect for her room. I used to collect barbies when I was growing up so I decided that I would go through my many boxes of them and pull out all the princess ones and put them in Morgan's room.
The dresser in Morgan's room has so much meaning behind it. When my father moved out when he was 18 his mom found this dresser for him, of course it was not pink then! This dresser has stayed in our family ever since. My sister and I used it when we were little and it was painted yellow and blue. I even used it when I was older and wanted a leopard themed room. I painted the dresser tan with leopard spots all over it. My parents decided to sand it down and get all the old paint off and repaint it for Miss Morgan. The colors are perfect and it even has the polka dot theme.

When Shawn and I were debating over what Morgan's name was going to be we always knew that her middle name would be Lynn. My Grandmother, Mom and I all have that middle name and it was important to me that my little girl's middle name be the same. When my grandma came to visit when Morgan was born she put together this frame. There is a baby picture of all four of us with our names and date of births. She also typed up a story explaining how her parents choose her name. What a great gift for Morgan to carry with her and hopefully pass on to her daughter.

This is my favorite spot in Morgan's room. I love rocking Morgan at night before she goes to bed. I was only able to nurse her for the first 2 months before I got Mastitis. The nurse told me I had to keep nursing Morgan in order for it to go away. I was also put on antibiotics. After two days of the antibiotics my milk completely dried up and I could no longer nurse. I was crushed. I did not want to lose the bond that Morgan and I had begun to build so I decided that I would still use the rocker when I fed her. It is still the best moment of everyday!

Here's to old friends and new times

Last night a bunch of us high school friends decided it was time to get together and go out. Tammy posted a comment on Facebook last week that asked who wanted to get together. We started out at her restaurant for a few drinks and then we headed to Bull Shooters, Andy Bates' dad's bar, to play some pool and darts. What a FUN night we had sharing stories and laughs from the past, but also getting to chat about our lives today! I am so thankful for the people in my life and I am more thankful that they are all happy and blessed.

Here's to OLD friends and NEW times!

Naps = Jail???

Okay, so last week we had to finally move the crib mattress down two levels because Morgan has figured out how to sit up and play in her crib instead of sleep. Now, today I put her down for her morning nap and watched her on our video monitor as she not only sat up in her crib, but pulled herself up on the rail and stood there and screamed like she was in jail! It was so funny...but sad at the same time. This is day 2 of NO morning nap...I hope she is not done with them, but she is a stinker so you never know!

Show us a room...

I am following a friends blog and she came up with the idea to show a room of your house each Monday and describe why you like that room. I thought this was a fun idea, so I have decided to join in. I know it is Tuesday, but next week I will be on track.

This week I choose my kitchen.

This is the window above my sink. I love using greenery through-out my house and this is just one of the many spots you can find it!

Next to my stove I took and old wine glass and bottle rack and now I use it to hold my pot holders, favorite cookbooks and spoon rests.

You will always find candles burning in my kitchen. For one I love the way they smell...and for another I sell Gold Canyon Candles, so of course I am going to burn them!

You will always find my kitchen table decorated for the season or holiday. Right now I am using my summer colored cloth with my flip flop dish to hold my candles and salt and pepper. I always have a different basket that holds the napkins and lastly I keep pictures on the table of the kids and our friends. I would love to see your house. If you would like to join in we would love to have the opportunity to see the place you call home!

Miss Morgan is 10 months today!

WOW! How time flies. It seems just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital. She is quite the character now. I have started planning her first birthday party. We are going to have an "Under the Sea" party with Ariel. I have started getting things already to decorate the house with. My mom is making her a Little Mermaid outfit, and hopefully a friend will be able to make an Ariel cake for her. Our Little Princess is now pulling up on things and walking around everything. She still wants NOTHING to do with crawling...that's ok. She says dog, night, night, and of course dada and mama. She is waving and clapping and she can play Patty Cake. She does the whole song and even points at her hand for the mark it part. What a sweetie she is!
