Some old pictures from this month. I have been a slacker when it comes to posting pictures. This is my family on my birthday. We celebrated my birthday at my parents house by the pool.

Zach swimming like a fish. He LOVES the pool.
Morgan taking a nap after swimming. She looks so long in this picture.

My cake! See I told you I have a thing for flip flop. (See my 6 uninteresting things post)

This is Morgan at her very first dentist appointment. I know she is a little young to have anything done, but we want her to start getting used to the chair and the noises of the dentist, so when Zach and I had our appointments they check out Miss Morgans two teeth as well.

Sitting in the chair all by herself. What a big girl!

This past Friday we spent the day with my friend Tara and her kids. The boys were playing nerf war in the house. This is Skylar and Zach showing off there weapons. Before this war all the boys were out in the pool swimming like fish. I think there was 6 boys all together!

Tara and I with Miss Morgan. For those of you who do not know, Tara was my high school dance teacher. I am so thankful that we have stayed in touch and built a great friendship. Thank you Tara for having us over Friday! Zach had so much fun!

Okay last photo...I promise. I took Morgan to the doctor last Wednesday and we found out she had a double ear infection. Poor girl had a fever for the rest of the week, well because of the fever I kept giving her cool baths and putting a wash cloth on her head to help the fever go down. This is the crazy bed head she developed every time she woke up from her nap after having the wash cloth on her head.

Now that I have basically caught up on June, July will hit. Hopefully I can stay more on top of these pictures.

6 uninteresting things about me...

I was tagged from Corie to post 6 uninteresting things about me...don't laugh! :)

1. I LOVE flip flops and anything with flip flops on it. I have at least 50 pairs of flip flops in my closet. When I was a teacher I decorated my classroom in flip flops. One day I had tennis shoes on and one of my first graders came up to me and said, "Mrs. Shero, where are your toes today?" Too cute! You can steal my heart away with flip flops.

2. I have an addiction to Coach purses and Tiffany's jewelry. I am not sure exactly why I have these addictions, I just do. I change my purse out according to the season. Weird...I know. With the jewelry, I have to have the matching bracelet and necklace with whatever I buy. I have not been to Tiffany's in a very LONG time though.

3. I LOVE the feel and smell of clean sheets. If it wasn't such a pain I would probably wash my sheets everyday, just to have that feeling when I crawl into bed.

4. I LOVE to paint. Even though it takes FOREVER to do. I enjoy coming up with some creative and painting it on a wall. I even bought myself and overhead projector so that I could paint murals on walls.

5. Scrapbooking and card making are my favorite hobby. I have done wedding invitations for some friends and I am currently in the process of making Morgan's first birthday invitations. I make my own Christmas cards and I usually have to start after Halloween in order to have them done and sent out on time.

6. Lastly, I am beginning to enjoy the art of cooking. I have found that being a stay at home mommy I have time to find new recipes and try them out. I enjoy making meals for my family, although some nights we just have sandwiches.

The following people have been tagged by me to do this as well on your blog!
1. Catina
2. Paige
3. Jen Chang
4. Brenda Lee
5. Jenn Morgan

Swimming for Father's Day

We celebrated Father's Day on Saturday at my parents house. We hung out by the pool, had a few drinks, and end the night with some ice cream and laughs.

Everyone was playing basketball in the pool. Well trying....
Grandma was feeding Morgan while we were all playing. Morgan could not join us in the pool this weekend because she has a double ear infection and still had somewhat of a fever on Saturday.

Here is Shawn mixin' up some yummy margarita's for my dad.

Havin' fun!

Happy Father's Day to the 2 best daddy's ever. Shawn you are a great father to our kids and they will grow to love you more and more. Dad, thank you for always being there for Mel and I and supporting us in our choices through out or lives. I love you both!

Show us a room Monday...Today's pick is the master bedroom and bathroom

This week for "Show us a room Monday" I have chosen the Master Bedroom and Bathroom. I am a big fan of cherry wood furniture. I think it looks elegant and makes a bedroom feel a bit more relaxing. Our bedroom and bathroom is done in pinks, reds, and shades of brown. Tulips are my favorite flower and that is one of the accents I added in our bathroom.

This is one of my favorite pictures in our house. It is from our wedding. I am the queen of flip flops and that is what I wore on my wedding day. Our photographer captured the greatest picture and I have it framed next to our invitation.

The one thing I LOVE most about our room are all the pictures of our family. On each side of the bed is a picture of our kids and in the middle is a picture of Shawn and I from our wedding.

As you can see I love greenery. I have it in almost every room of the house.

More tulips to add to the decor and of course more pictures of the kids.

The best part of our room is the feeling I get after a long day when I am finally ready to crawl into bed. Good Night!

We are on the move...

Morgan finally decided to crawl this afternoon. She has been pulling herself up and walking around everything, but did not want to crawl. Now she is on the move.

Dinner's a Wrap...

My Tasty Treat for this week is Ranch Cheddar Chicken Roll-Ups.

What you need:
1 large red pepper cut into strips
1 bunch of green onions, chopped
1lb. boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into strips
1/3 cup ranch dressing (you can use BBQ sauce too)
4 tortillas
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Make it:
Cook and stir vegetables in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat 3 min. Add chicken; cook and stir 3 to 4 min. or until no longer pink. Stir in ranch dressing; cook on medium heat 3 min. or until chicken is done.

Spoon chicken mixture down centers of tortillas; top with cheese. Roll up; cut in half and ENJOY!

Show us a room Monday...Today's pick is Morgan's room

The room I choose this week is Morgan's room. I have not taken any pictures of her room yet, so I thought this would be the perfect way to finally share her room with everyone! When we were deciding what to do for Morgan's room I knew I wanted pink and brown as the colors. I found a pattern that has a little bit of flowers on it, and also polka dots. Morgan already has a collection of stuffed animals that she has received, so I placed them all in a big basket and display them on the chest in her room. The book shelf in filled with pictures of our family and her very own book collection. Morgan loves to be read to.

I found some pink letters with silver rhinestones on them that I thought would be perfect for her room. I used to collect barbies when I was growing up so I decided that I would go through my many boxes of them and pull out all the princess ones and put them in Morgan's room.
The dresser in Morgan's room has so much meaning behind it. When my father moved out when he was 18 his mom found this dresser for him, of course it was not pink then! This dresser has stayed in our family ever since. My sister and I used it when we were little and it was painted yellow and blue. I even used it when I was older and wanted a leopard themed room. I painted the dresser tan with leopard spots all over it. My parents decided to sand it down and get all the old paint off and repaint it for Miss Morgan. The colors are perfect and it even has the polka dot theme.

When Shawn and I were debating over what Morgan's name was going to be we always knew that her middle name would be Lynn. My Grandmother, Mom and I all have that middle name and it was important to me that my little girl's middle name be the same. When my grandma came to visit when Morgan was born she put together this frame. There is a baby picture of all four of us with our names and date of births. She also typed up a story explaining how her parents choose her name. What a great gift for Morgan to carry with her and hopefully pass on to her daughter.

This is my favorite spot in Morgan's room. I love rocking Morgan at night before she goes to bed. I was only able to nurse her for the first 2 months before I got Mastitis. The nurse told me I had to keep nursing Morgan in order for it to go away. I was also put on antibiotics. After two days of the antibiotics my milk completely dried up and I could no longer nurse. I was crushed. I did not want to lose the bond that Morgan and I had begun to build so I decided that I would still use the rocker when I fed her. It is still the best moment of everyday!
