Party, Party, Party

Started this weekend off by attending an event downtown with some wonderful MK sisters! Chasity, Laura, Melissa and I went to see some other MK sisters speak on Friday night. They are Nationals and shared such inspiring stories with all of us. Chasity and Laura are both on my team. My first car is getting closer...1 more and it will be on order!!

Here we are with Jo Ann Barnes. She is bringing in roughly $16,000 dollars each month. Her story was inspiring and you could just feel her passion for what she does now.

This is Pamela Waldrop Shaw...she brings in $40,000.00 or more a month. Yes, a month...I am working my way to the top just like these women! Pamela shared so many things and they hit home with me in more ways than 1. The biggest thing I took away from her is when she said, "You can't live your values until you know what they are." From your walk with Christ, to your family, and then onto your career your values must be written out and read each day in order to be successful.

Lastly is Gloria Mayfield Banks. She is top of the top in MK. She has over 700 people in her unit and brings in $70,000.00 + each month. WOW....she was amazing with her story. A victim of domestic violence in her past and now a strong, focused women.

Saturday, I finished a pre-made scrapbook for a babyshower gift, went to a dog show, and we BBQ....and guess what...NO CAMERA again. Seriously, my momnesia is kicking in again.

Sunday, I started the day off at church, then Morgan and I headed to Kimber's babyshower. I went to high school and cheered with Kimber. It was so great to see her.

Right after the shower Morgan and I headed to our friend Bryce's 1st birthday party. I used to watch Bryce for Jenn and Jess so they did not have to use a daycare center.

Morgan was pretty exhausted by the time we got to the birthday party....but she hung in there like a champ!

Fun, Flirty, and 30

Well...my BIG day was this past Monday and since turning 30 I have had quite the week. We started celebrating on Saturday by heading to my fave restaurant, Ah-So's for a little sushi.

Liz and Bryan joined us for a little celebration. I got beautiful hot pink roses from them.

Our cook was great...he kept us all very entertained! Morgan was in awe every time there was fire.

Then on Monday, my actual birthday, Shawn took the day off and we all went to a movie and lunch. (of course I would forget the camera...oops!!) Then it was off to my Mary Kay meeting..where we celebrated there too with cupcakes...camera not in hand AGAIN!

Tuesday I spent redecorating a few things in our master bedroom...pics to come when I'm done! Then Wednesday and Thursday I spent my days in the hospital...great way to bring on the 30 huh...Wednesday I awoke to some horrible pains in my lower back, and some bleeding. Did not think much of it once the pain went away, so off to the grocery store I went with Morgan at 6:00a.m. Then when I returned home I decided to call my mom and let her know what had happened, she told me to call my doctor, so I did...and all of a sudden I was put into panic mode as the receptionist said "I need to get your nurse, this seems like and emergency situation." Sure enough, I was told to head straight to the ER. Keep in mind I'm already in panic mode...now I can't get ahold of Shawn, either of my parents or my sis. So off to the ER I headed. After a little panic attack, I finally got ahold of my dad and he met me there. Checked in, blood work and all kinds of other tests...nothing...I do not like "nothing" results. I was sent home after 5 hours of NOTHING....then Thursday morning I awoke to worse pain than contractions in my left side. Off to the ER we headed again...this time to Del Webb, wonderful care!! My mom met Shawn and I there to take the kids. I was checked in and given pain meds with in 15 minutes. I was ready to crawl out of my skin the pain was so bad. After a CT Scan and some blood work I was told I have a kidney stone. I was thinking that, as I had one 6 years ago and remembered the pain being this bad. So after only 2 hours at Del Webb, I had results and was heading home. My mom stayed with me as I was on some good pain meds and could not take care of Morgan. So in all of this, I have decided that I will be celebrating next week instead to really "bring on the 30".

22 months and growing...

Today is officially Miss Morgan's 22 month birthday! I cannot even believe how fast the past 22 months have gone. Each and every day Morgan surprises me with something new. Here is a little update on our Princess.

She is speaking in sentence form now...putting 3 to 4 words together.

Counts to 5 with no help and 10 with a little help.

Wears "Big Girl" Panties and asks for "panties" when we get dressed in the mornings.

LOVES to wear dresses...that is what she picks.

Has an addiction to "Ariel" and "Rella" movies

Jumps on the trampoline each and every day and now can get both feet up off the trampoline

Morgan is starting to dress herself, puts her shorts on and sometimes her shirts or dresses

LOVES to eat cereal....for every meal (too bad I don't let her)

There is so much more to share...but mostly she is turning into quite a little lady. I wanted a girl so bad that EVERYONE...students and staff wore pink the day of my ultrasound...and they ALL told me I would be in trouble if I had a girl because of how "prissy" I am. Well....I now know what they were talking about. Miss Morgan gets her toes painted, carries her purse everywhere, has to wear dresses or skirts, and absolutely can't stand to be dirty. BUT, I would NOT change a thing! I am in heaven with my little Princess!!

4500 miles of travel....

May has been a month of travels for us. I can honestly say I am thankful the month is over so I can relax a little before our next trips.

I started the month in Texas for my SUPERSTAR weekend, then headed to San Diego for my sister's birthday, next stop was Winslow for a Mary Kay business debut and graduation parties, last was our 6 day trip to Colorado. We visited my mom and dads family and I also had a Mary Kay party for a friend who I went to Junior High with. Nothing like a good reason to write a trip off!!

My mom's mom got out her jewelry box with old pieces in it from her mother and her grand mother. She let us girls go through it and pick out the pieces we wanted. All of it was gold...so not sure how much I will wear it, but just to have it I feel lucky!

We took a trip to Garden of the Gods. If you ever visit Colorado Springs it is a MUST that you visit here. There are hiking trails, a beautiful visitors center and cafe, and views that are breathtaking.

My dad's parents celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on June 1st, so we all went out for a fabulous lunch. I got to see my cousin Rachel and meet her fiance Nick. I also got to see my Aunt and Uncle's that I have not seen in years.

The last night we were there us 4 girls made a trip to the Cinemark to spend a little time with our best gal pals!! Sex and the City 2 was amazing!!

Wrapping up the month of May and putting 4500 miles of travel under my belt in one month has exhausted me, but at the same time got me ready to "bring on the 30", continue planning Miss Morgan's 2nd birthday party, plan an few camping trips and one last trip to San Diego. What a BUSY summer we have in store for us!

Today is Mary Kay Monday. Now that summer is approaching and our swimming days are getting closer we need to be sure that our skin is protected. Mary Kay has all the essentials you need to keep your skin protected from the harmful rays. Mary Kay's sunscreen products are "recommended as an effective sunscreen" by the Skin Cancer Foundation.

The first product is Mary Kay SPF 30 Sunscreen: This product is waterproof, sweat proof. It protects against the harmful UVA/UVB rays and it also helps prevent premature aging.

Next, is Mary Kay After-Sun Replenishing Gel. The sun robs your skin of vital moisture. With the help of botanicals and antioxidants in this product you can get all of that back.

Third, Mary Kay Tinted Lip Balm Sunscreen SPF 15. The thin skin on your lips is vulnerable to the sun's harmful rays. Protect, moisturize and add a sheer tine of color to keep them beautiful.

Kitchen Make-Over

Today I will begin to share pictures of our new home. It has been a long process buying, fixing up, and moving into this home...but when all is said and done this is truly my home with the "white picket fence" around it. I am taking my time in decorating each and every room so it is done to my satisfaction. Also I am one to re-do rooms over and over and over and...well you get it, so I want to make each room so that I do not want to re-do them. (hahaha...well see how long that lasts)

Here are a few before pics of the kitchen...

We were VERY overwhelmed by this kitchen when we first looked at the home, but here are the now photos...

I used black and white fabrics and prints with accents of pink in our kitchen.

I just LOVE the plant shelves above my cabinets. And the Tulips are my FAVORITE flower, so a kitchen without flowers, to me just isn't a kitchen at all.

I found the letters for our last name in black and white prints...I thought it was a perfect place for them.

I had some bottles shaped as shoes with different vinegar and spices in them...I decided to paint them black and place them on my counter next to my black and white book of Shoes and under a few plates that I had with shoes and purses on them.

I took my clear canisters and added some black and pink stickers and ribbon to label them as flour, sugar and of course candy. Next to it I have my scrapbook on display from the 3-day, 60 mile Breast Cancer Walk I participated in a few years ago.

My utensil holder in a large glass jar and I added some pink and black ribbon to that as well.

My previous kitchen was decorated with a vineyard decor...so I took this cabinet and re-covered it to make it match my new kitchen. Above is before...below is after...

My chairs had not been re-covered since my kitchen in my home up north...so I decided now was the best time...above is before...below is after...

Lastly, after re-covering my chairs I decided my front window needed a valance of some sort...so I took the left over scraps of fabric and cut them into strips and tied them onto the rod to make a valance.

I just LOVE my new kitchen. We had to re-paint all of the cabinets in the kitchen as the previous white on them was not really white anymore. The flooring was vinyl and we had tile put in place of it. We now have a great place to sit down and eat together or gather around the table with our friends. My kitchen make-over was a success...and the best part is everything I did was under $100.00.
