Mommy and Morgan

Here are a few pictures of me at my first birthday. My Mom found these the other day and we were talking about the resemblance between Morgan and I at this age. My Mom had forgotten until she saw these photos that my hair was a little curly when I was 1, by the time I hit two the curls had left and it was straight from then on. I am curious to know if Morgan's curls will go away...hopefully NOT!

Now, here are the photos of Morgan at 1.

And, here we both are celebrating Morgan's first birthday.

Show and Tell Wednesday

This weeks Show and Tell is about a souvenir we have gotten from somewhere that we have been. I chose a picture of Zach and I from our trip to Cave of the Winds in Colorado Springs. Zach and I traveled to Colorado in July of 2007 to visit my family. This was Zach's first trip out there. I wanted to take him to a couple of parks that they have out there and this is one that we decided to go to. The reason why I decided to show the picture is because it shows so much more than just the two of us. We were standing inside the cave when this picture was taken. The temperature from outside to inside the cave must have been a 10-15 degree difference. Like I said we went in July and look we are in sweatshirts in here. Zach was AMAZED by all the different rock formations that exist. He learned a lot and could not wait to get home and share what he saw with his dad.

The website states this about the park:
Cave of the Winds, a hidden jewel within Colorado Natural Attractions, literally makes your jaw drop in wonder and astonishment. These Colorado Caves feature geology and adventure rolled into one—a true, unique GeoVenture! Located in scenic hills above historic Manitou Springs, this Colorado Attraction is one of America’s most important show caves and a "must-see" for all Colorado Natural Attractions. Visitors have shared in the stunning beauty of Cave of the Winds for over a century. Early legends of the Jicarilla Apaches, who migrated through the Pikes Peak region around 1000 AD, tell of a cave in this area where the Great Spirit of the Wind resided. In the late 1800s, the modern era of Cave of the Winds began when two young brothers, George and John Pickett, stumbled onto these Colorado Caves. Just out for a day’s exploration with a church group, the boys never expected to stumble upon what would become one of America’s greatest show caves and a premier Colorado Natural Attraction! Through the years, visitors have ventured to these Colorado Caves by foot, horse, carriage, car, and RV. But whether 100 years ago or today, a visit to Cave of the Winds enthralls the whole family with the magnificent wonders of our special underground world--making it the best in Colorado Natural Attractions! Here are some other photos of what you would see inside the caves.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MORGAN!

Our 1st 12 month journey comes to an end and the next one begins. Being a mom to this little girl has been such a blessing. I am excited to continue our journey as mother and daughter and watch Morgan grow.

July to August

11 months...it went by so fast! During July we continues to work on Morgan's flashcards and learning new things. We worked on counting to three and decided after Morgan mastered 1 that we were going to start asking her "How old will you be?" She would respond by holding up 1 finger. We also did away with the bottle this month and only use sippy cups now. Lastly, Morgan cut her third and fourth teeth. Here are a few pictures of Morgan swimming with Grandma and Grandpa.

Our outfit picks for this month include a dress from my cousin Michelle, Morgan's paisley short outfit, and one of her Fourth of July outfits.

June to July

We are almost to a year and it has gone by SOOO fast! Morgan has learned so much. Shawn taught Morgan what a dot is and know every time she sees her rug in her room she points to the dots and says "dot". We have done A LOT of swimming so far and Morgan just LOVES the water. This month we celebrated my birthday and Father's Day. Our BIG milestone this month was Morgan started to crawl! We took a trip to the Science Center and we celebrated Morgan's 1st Fourth of July. What a great month full of family and fun!

I am a big scrapbooker and card maker, so I thought why not add something new to the mix. I decided to try to make Morgan a rhinestone shirt...not too bad for my first one.

Here are this months picks...Her lady bug outfit, she has red and white polka dot shoes to match it, flip flop pajamas, a watermelon sun dress, and of course her little bikini. I cannot wait for these special outfits to be put into a quilt for her that my mom is making.

A day of birthday's

On August 1st we celebrated a day of birthday's. Today we had Mermaid Morgan's first birthday party and it just happened to fall on my Mom's birthday. My Mom was a VERY happy Grandma to be celebrating her day with her grand-daughter. For Morgan's party my Mom made her a mermaid costume. Morgan wore this while she was opening presents.

Here is Morgan and my Mom on their special day!
Morgan was telling everyone that she is ONE!
Here are some of our friends that joined us to celebrate.

Mommy and Morgan (Zach and Ashlyn are in the background).

Tatum and Morgan. Tatum LOVED all the little kids.

Belle and Morgan (Ryan is in the back)

Morgan was so excited for all her fun presents from everyone!

She was a little un-easy when everyone started to sing to her, but she got over it and dug into her cake!

Our little Mermaid Princess
Another glimpse of the costume!

This is one of the gifts that my parents got Morgan. She LOVES riding on her new Ariel car.

What a great day we had celebrating these birthday's. Thanks for all the gifts everyone. Morgan LOVES them!

We celebrate my first Mother's Day and my Sister's birthday. Lastly, we headed to Colorado to visit our family again and Morgan's new cousins Peyton and Wesley. Wesley was born on March 31st and Peyton was born on May 3rd.

For Mother's Day Morgan finger painted a t-shirt for my mom...this was the final result...I think she had fun! :)
This month i decided to show these outfits...the cherry dress is something that Morgan and her cousin Peyton wore while we were in Colorado...they we matching and Wesley had a little green outfit on. The sunflower outfit, I had to put in here just because it was a nice little summer outfit for Morgan. Then of course more shoes...I LOVED this pair of shoes.
