Here's to old friends and new times

Last night a bunch of us high school friends decided it was time to get together and go out. Tammy posted a comment on Facebook last week that asked who wanted to get together. We started out at her restaurant for a few drinks and then we headed to Bull Shooters, Andy Bates' dad's bar, to play some pool and darts. What a FUN night we had sharing stories and laughs from the past, but also getting to chat about our lives today! I am so thankful for the people in my life and I am more thankful that they are all happy and blessed.

Here's to OLD friends and NEW times!

Naps = Jail???

Okay, so last week we had to finally move the crib mattress down two levels because Morgan has figured out how to sit up and play in her crib instead of sleep. Now, today I put her down for her morning nap and watched her on our video monitor as she not only sat up in her crib, but pulled herself up on the rail and stood there and screamed like she was in jail! It was so funny...but sad at the same time. This is day 2 of NO morning nap...I hope she is not done with them, but she is a stinker so you never know!

Show us a room...

I am following a friends blog and she came up with the idea to show a room of your house each Monday and describe why you like that room. I thought this was a fun idea, so I have decided to join in. I know it is Tuesday, but next week I will be on track.

This week I choose my kitchen.

This is the window above my sink. I love using greenery through-out my house and this is just one of the many spots you can find it!

Next to my stove I took and old wine glass and bottle rack and now I use it to hold my pot holders, favorite cookbooks and spoon rests.

You will always find candles burning in my kitchen. For one I love the way they smell...and for another I sell Gold Canyon Candles, so of course I am going to burn them!

You will always find my kitchen table decorated for the season or holiday. Right now I am using my summer colored cloth with my flip flop dish to hold my candles and salt and pepper. I always have a different basket that holds the napkins and lastly I keep pictures on the table of the kids and our friends. I would love to see your house. If you would like to join in we would love to have the opportunity to see the place you call home!

Miss Morgan is 10 months today!

WOW! How time flies. It seems just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital. She is quite the character now. I have started planning her first birthday party. We are going to have an "Under the Sea" party with Ariel. I have started getting things already to decorate the house with. My mom is making her a Little Mermaid outfit, and hopefully a friend will be able to make an Ariel cake for her. Our Little Princess is now pulling up on things and walking around everything. She still wants NOTHING to do with crawling...that's ok. She says dog, night, night, and of course dada and mama. She is waving and clapping and she can play Patty Cake. She does the whole song and even points at her hand for the mark it part. What a sweetie she is!

Our trip to Colorado

We started our trip off on Thursday night at Sky Harbor Airport. Shawn, my sister, Morgan and I all flew into Denver. We did not arrive until after mid-night. Then we drove down to Colorado Springs where our family lives. My cousin Chelsi graduated from high school this weekend. It was very rainy most of the weekend, but the weather was still beautiful. We got lots of pictures of the new babies in the family.

We were also able to see my dads side of the family. We have not seen them for a couple of years now. What a great visit it was!

On Saturday night the boys decided it was time to play Rock Band. Zach was the guitarist, Travis and Jeremy were the singers and Ang, Chelsi and a few randoms were the drummers. Zach was in costume for this!

Here are the new mommy's with their babies.

What a GREAT time we had visiting with our family! We love you ALL!

Busy...busy...busy

Well, I feel that I have been to busy these days with this substitute job. I only have 6 1/2 more days of subbing and then it is back at home with my Princess. The past two mornings have been very hard to leave her, but I know she is in good "Grandma" hands.
Morgan turned nine months on Monday. She still does not want anything to do with crawling, all she cares about is walking. I think we are going to skip the crawling stage. She has started to play "Patty Cake". If you ask her if she wants to play "Patty Cake" she will immediately start clapping and then she will point at one hand for the "mark it" part of the song. She is still teething and doing great with it. She has started to eat a little bit more solid foods such as, waffles, toast, and crackers. She finally got to have her very first swim party with Liz and the kids. She loved the water.

We are planning our trip to Colorado. Two more weeks and we will be there. Both my cousins, Michelle, and Stephanie have had their babies and we are so excited to meet them. This will be the first trip where all the grandkids and great-grandkids will be together. Stephanie and Jeremy had little Miss Peyton and Michelle and Skylar had Mister Wesley.Shawn has started working on our backyard. We just moved into this house in September and had to go through the HOA to get our backyard plans approved...we have a green belt behind our house and our fence is open, so that is why it has to be approved. Well, we are finally ready to put in some grass. Living right across the street for the Camelback Ranch Stadium, we are hoping they do some sort of 4th of July event so we can have a party at our house.
My 1st official Mother's Day was great. I started my day off in bed with Miss Morgan playing at Shawn and my side. Then I headed off to church. After church we headed over to my "bed ridden" sister's house for Mother's Day lunch with my parents and my aunt and her baby. I found a t-shirt for my mom that needed Morgan and Zach's hand prints on it. Well Zach was pretty easy...hand prints on the shirt and then he was off to wash his hands (only). Now for Morgan it was a different story...the picture tells all! So fun!

Morgan loves hanging out with her Grandpa!
