Hey guys! A friend of mine sent me the email below and she needs our help! She is our family photographer and she has entered a photo in a contest. Robin is trying to get a portfolio started and she is taking classes to hopefully be able to become a professional photographer. She uses Morgan quite often for practice. Please read the email below and follow the link to the blog and vote for her picture. There are 4 pictures and hers is the first one. When I just voted she is in second place. So PLEASE PLEASE go vote for her!!

Thank you for your time and VOTES!

One of my favorite photogs to follow is doing a photo contest on her blog. I entered a cute pic I took of Brooke playing bubbles. Mine was picked as a finalist, so PLEASE GO VOTE FOR ME!!!
If I win, I get a session with her, and since Jenna doesn’t really let me do photos of her anymore, I thought it would be cool to shoot for a chance with a real photographer..
(The photo I entered is the first one)

Many, Many thanks!!!!

It's Friday!!

Today Zach comes home from camp. I have been sending him emails through-out the week and the camp prints them out and delivers them to the kids. Here is another picture that one of the AWESOME leaders took. Zach doesn't look too thrilled in this photo...and he almost looks like a little homie....I hope this picture was taken on dress-up day and he was just posing with the outfit. He is the one in the hat. Not sure who the other 2 boys are, but Scott is on the left and he is the group leader for Zach's group. Zach will be off again tomorrow when his grandparents come to pick him up to spend another week in Payson. He has been gone for 4 weeks of the summer already and this will be his 5th. More pictures of camp will come after Zach gets home.

Farewell Michael Jackson

What a sad day. As I was watching the Memorial for Michael Jackson I was remembering all the times I used to dance to his songs. Growing up I was in dance and a lot of the songs that were chosen for us to perform to were by Michael Jackson. Wanna Be Startin Somethin' was one of my favorites. I was also remembering all the mornings of cheer practice through the summer that my cheer coach and dear friend now made us warm up to Michael Jackson songs. We all teased her for it, but really I think everyone of us enjoyed it! The day he passed my mom called me and told me she had just heard it on the radio...I immediately thought of Lynne, my former cheer coach, and called her. She was very saddened by the news. Again, her and I laughed of those mornings in cheer.

Farewell Michael Jackson! You will be missed!

Zach's trip to UCYC

On Sunday Zach headed off for camp with our church. He has been gone almost all summer, but he is always with family and I never cry...but this time, I cried. He has never been on a trip all by himself before and I was sad to send him off into the room knowing that he was all grown up. Of course he was fine...excited and couldn't wait to ride the BIG charter buses. Our church is keeping a blog for us parents this week and trying to post pictures and notes each day.

Day 1:
We have successfully spent the last 24 hours with your children!! We have had quite a blast! It has been so much fun getting to know everyone and hanging out with all the kids. You all back there don't know what you are missing. We arrived safe and sound at UCYC yesterday around 6PM. We got our suitcases and headed off to our cabins. After checking in we had dinner and our first chapel time. We are beginning to learn about Jesus and that he was a real person! Some of the comments we have heard so far are amazing. The kids spent lots of time today digging through their Bibles to find descriptions of Jesus. It has been great to see their gears beginning to turn. The rest of the day we spent doing our rotations which consist of all types of exciting things!! It has been warm but, very nice. The evening are cool HOORAY!

The top picture is of Guy and Zach after we check them in at church. Neither were very thrilled about having their picture taken. The middle photo is of the kids loading up on the buses. The bottom photo is Zach's group at church. He is on the left in the blue shirt and wearing the hat. Looks like they are having fun.More pictures will follow when Zach gets home...I bought him a camera, he was VERY excited to be able to take his OWN pictures.

Show us a room Monday...Today's pick is The Living Room

This week I am showing you our living room. This room is right off the dining area, so if we have guests over it allows us to visit with everyone. We are rarely in this room, as all of Morgan's toys are in the loft, and Shawn prefers to watch tv upstairs anyway. One of my favorites in this room is the mirror on the wall. Shawn and I bought this when we moved a few years ago. We were in a candle store inside the mall and saw this on the wall. The mirror was hanging so high up on the wall that it looked like the tag said $999.99, but when we ask to get it off the wall so we could buy it, the mirror was actually $99.99. We got a great deal!

This is the other favorite of mine...the cedar chest. My Grandpa built this for me when I moved out of my parents house. It is made of pine on the outside and the inside is all cedar. I keep my winter blankets in here. Our family enjoys playing board games. Shawn and I found this collection of games when we moved and just had to get them because they look like books. Lastly, I LOVE the pictures that are in this room. I have our family picture up and then quite a few of more family and friends.

This is a great room to just sit and talk with my friends when they come over. We LOVE having people over.

7/4/2009

Today we spent the day with my parents, swimming and eating!! These are the two desserts my mom made for us. Red, White and Blue Jell-o and a watermelon Jell-o pie.

My dad and sister were singing and dancing to the Boot-Scootin Boogie. They had a little to drink! :)
Daddy and his Princess
Morgan would not look at the camera for this picture. I was trying to show her outfit off. I bought this outfit last year before I had Morgan. The shirt says Mommy's Princess. I just could not pass it up.
Grandma and Morgan watching the fireworks.
We headed out to Surprise to watch the fireworks. Zach was with us all day...but always seemed to slip out of the camera range. He was just TOO busy swimming and having fun. We hope everyone had a great Fourth of July.

Family Fun Day...Friday July 3rd

Shawn FINALLY got a day off, so we decided that we wanted to have a Family Fun Day. Shawn picked the Science Center to start our day with. We loaded up the truck and headed out. Zach had only been here once, on a field trip and Shawn has never been here before. For me...well I have been here on many field trips, as a teacher.

Here are Shawn and Zach building circuits. Shawn used to build homes when we lived in Happy Jack, so the home building exhibits were fun for him.

Here is Zach making electricity by spinning the wheel to turn on the light bulb.
While we were here we decided to see the LEGO Castle exhibit. Zach has been to LEGOLand a few times, so he was VERY excited to see the different castles and dragons made from Lego's.

I thought this wall was so neat. Morgan and I stood behind it and the drops fell on our silhouettes, then when we moved they fell to the bottom of the screen. Shawn captured a great photo here of Miss Morgan!

Zach was a little...ok A LOT nervous to lay on the Bed of Nails. We told him that it would not hurt because of how close the nails were together. He finally did it!

After our fun filled morning at the Science Center. We headed back home to pick up the kids bags and then went to meet my parents. They took the kids for the night and went swimming. Shawn and I headed to Maricopa to Shawn's sister's house and BBQ with them. Shawn's sister, Danielle and her husband just bought a Wii so they wanted us to come over an play. Well if anyone knows my hubby, that's what he likes to do in his spare time at home. So of course he did NOT let anyone beat him at ANY game. When we finally decided to start the grill, the weather changed and it started pouring down rain. We had about a 15 minute break to grill and then it was raining again. What a fun time we had!
