The Milner Unit

This past week started out with our Aloha Awards night with Mary Kay. Shawn and I went to the awards dinner together...on the way there Shawn asked me if I would be getting an award...my words were....No babe, I have only been in for 6 months...almost everyone else in the unit have been in for the full year, there is NO way I have done as much as them. The conversation ended there and we went to the dinner just expecting to hang out with the other couples...

We had an amazing dinner, then the awards started....Chrissy Shero...Chrissy Shero...Chrissy Shero....
what?? I thought, how, when...huh me, as I looked around waiting for another Chrissy Shero to walk up.

I received the Miss Go-Give Award. In Mary Kay this award is the most prestigious award you can receive. The other consultants nominate the person who they feel has gone above and beyond for their unit, team, and customers. I received a beautiful necklace. (Sorry the pic is so far away)

Oh and the awards did not stop there...Next was the Queen of Sales and Queen of Recruiting....
Our director does the top four out of her unit, of over 60, I was the 2nd for recruiting, and the 4th for sales. Seriously...I did that good and have only been in this business for 6 months!!
Stacey and I received a beautiful necklace and earring set. Stacey was in the top four as well...1st in sales and 1st in recruiting!

It was a great night and now I am pumped and ready to soar this Mary Kay year!!

On Wednesday we had our very first Mary Kay Amazing Race...Stacey and I were STAR Consultants for the 4th quarter, so we got to attend the STAR Party...which this quarter was an Amazing Race. We started at the church on TOP of the mountain near the cross...(God first)
then headed to the Chevy dealership to test drive our first FREE car...a fully loaded Chevy Malibu.
Then went to the mall to get 10 names and numbers of girls to facial...
Next, was Chick-fil-a for a QUICK...bit to eat...and cow decorating contest...(mine won)

Last was to Speed Street to take a race around the track...we were asked if we were a professional racing team because of our attire...
This was the best Amazing Race ever...the Milner Unit, our unit, WON!! We are strong leaders and LOVE to be at the top!!
We just booked our first Sorority at ASU for a HUGE, HUGE event...I cannot wait for all the others to start booking too!

Christmas in July

Well you are all probably wondering what in the heck I have Christmas backgrounds and music on my blog for....well I will tell you that this month is a Christmas in July month for our family!

It's the most ridiculous time of the year
with kids belly flopping
and everyone yelling "it's...a dry heat"
It's the most ridiculous time of the year.

It's the hot, hottest season of all
with those monsoon greetings and dust storm beatings
when no rain comes until fall
It's the hot, hottest season of all.

You'll be poolside for cooling
and everyone fooling
around in the backyard of snow
there'll be scary temperatures upon us
and tales of cool Christmas' so, long long ago

It's the most ridiculous time of the year
there'll be much barbecuing and faces will be glowing
when ice cream cones are near
It's the most ridiculous time of the year.

I had to share the invitation that my parents sent out to all of our friends and family for their Christmas in July party. The invite was concluded with this statement: Please bring Santa suits & Wrapping paper (swim suits and towels)!

So excited for our FUN and EXCITING month!

Swim Lessons and BBQing

Tonight was another night filled with swim lessons, BBQ, more swimming, dessert...and more swimming!! We have a little fish on our hands!
Morgan has been in the water 2 times this summer so far...and she is jumping in and turning straight to her back, kicking, blowing bubbles, and jumping in freely to whoever is there.
Tonight she just wanted to be close to Grandma and Grandpa...she jumped in and swam to my mom...a little nerve racking, but she is confident...and I will get there!!
Grandpa was teaching her to spit out the water when she got it in her mouth.
Now Auntie Mel on the other hand was teaching Morgan how to color paint with ketchup...on her belly...what a mess Auntie Mel had to clean up!!
Our little fish is getting ready to turn two...35 more days...

Suited for Success

In Mary Kay the rewards and recognition just keep coming for me. I started my MK business in January and in the last 6 months my life has done a 180 and just keeps getting better. One of the first BIG steps you take in Mary Kay is becoming a Star Team Builder...which means you are wearing your Red Jacket. Well...I am there! I am an official "Red Jacket Holder" and am so excited to be moving up so quickly with this company. My first recruit came the day after I signed up and right away I started making 4% commission from her sales. Then I just kept partying and recruiting until I am where I am today. I have 4 members on my team...aiming for 5 by the end of the day. At 5 team members I then can go on target for my first FREE car. The money that I have started to make with my MK business is starting to compare to what I was making as a teacher each month. So as I continue to build my business I just want to take the time to thank all of you that have encouraged or supported me. Thank you all!! The friendships I have made and my walk with Christ are bigger and better now than ever before. MK offers hope for women and that is what I want each and every woman I meet to see. So come celebrate my success as I am offering a 50% off item to each individual that places a $50.00 or more order from July1st through July 30th. Let's make each day beautiful as we take care and pamper ourselves!!  Check out my new site and follow for more free product promotions at http://skincareandmore-chrissy.blogspot.com/.

A few projects by Shawn

Recently my husband, Shawn, was laid off of work...again, so this time he decided enough is enough and has started is own company doing property maintenance. This business has taken off, mostly with the landscaping, but a few other jobs have come out of it too.

My husband is quite the welder. Making side gates, pool fences, hitch covers, and so much more. Here are a couple of his most recent projects.

The first is a planter that goes around a tree...fill with dirt and plant your favorite flowers. The lady who ordered this likes coyotes, so as Shawn and I were brainstorming some ideas, we thought it would be neat to paint the silhouettes with glow in the dark paint.

Shawn hand cut out all of the designs that you see here.

The next project was a shoot glass holder for another customer.
These are the pieces he started with.
This is the actual piece that will hold the shoot glass that he coiled up.
Finished project...
I LOVED this one so much that I thought it could even be a votive holder....so guess what project is next on his list...wink, wink....
Shawn has quite the creative mind when it comes to metal and a welder. I'm so proud of him!!
